Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I had anxiety, drank to self-medicate the anxiety. Therapist tells me, lets deal with the drinking first and see what's left to deal with....went to AA, stopped drinking (yes, in that order :o )and the anxiety slowly went away. God knows I still have my moments, but I've learned better ways to deal with it through AA and the people I've met there.
My suspicion is that somewhere in your alcoholic mind you don't want the 'real problem' to be drinking because then you'd have to stop drinking....must be something else and once you find out what that something else in, then you can go on drinking, but of course in a more controlled manner - problem solved, right?
the blame falls upon us who fail to see or act upon the obvious. i have found it is the simple things in life that were abandoned.
rediscovering self, life and meaning is a cool thing. my goal is to buy a house with wood floors so i can extreme sock slide.
