Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
If I didn't have a drinking problem, I wouldn't be an alcoholic.
When I used to drink and get drunk, I'd always stop for the night too.
I never struggled with the next night so I guess that's where we're different.(?)
I always knew I was going to drink to get drunk the next night and the one after and that and the one after that.....
I never had the advantage of wondering.....I just always KNEW.
There is an online version and an AA Central Office and most book stores also carry them.
I still could'nt find the answer to that exact dilemma -it is a real mystery hey good luck with that one!
what about shitloads of sex on the second night????
or some cronic-you know like what snoop doggy dog goes on about-???
a good book??
maybe you just have to reallly exercise self restraint??
handcuffs could be fun??
gOOD LUCK ANYHOW!!!
These are the words that I started out using. I thought I could still turn around and go back to the good old days and came to find out the good old days were too old to learn new tricks.
You could go to this web site and start reading page 20. It gives some discriptions of different types of drinkers.

(Boleon, I did read that the other day...thanks)
Someone else suggested reading the AA Big Book and that is a good suggestion.
The most succint way of finding out is to be able to answer this question for yourself:
'If when you honestly want to, you find you cannot quit entirely or if when drinking you have little control over the amount you take, you are probably alcoholic. If that be the case you may be suffering from an illness which only a spiritual experience will conquer.'
If drinking is a problem for you and it appears that is true, then you need to find a solution; if you want to just cut down and can do that successfully, you won't need to be on this site, because the problem will have been sorted.
I guess that there is probably a big part of you that has a horrible suspicion that you ARE an alcoholic, but at the moment, you cannot bear the thought of it.
