Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
There has as long as I've been a member of DS.... been the so-called bullshit posts. Controversial posts. Arguments. Disagreements and occassional chaos. Am I part of the problem or part of the solution? Is the newcomer to fake sanity until it's a reality?
Come on Gary.....keep doing what you do best. Inspire! Whether here or there....your own spirituality depends on it.

I know what you mean. I got caught up with one person's drunken rants the other night. When I thought about it though, I realized that, in the rooms is where I really help the newcomer.
I do believe though, that one thing seems consistent with both here and the rooms of AA. People either get better or get gone. It just takes a little longer here for that to happen.
D- No truer words thanks for the wisdom.
i do believe that a lot of those main board postings could be taken to the Lets Take It Outside subgroup -
A little variety and a little OT on the main board, IMO, is ok now and then as helps remind the alkie that they are human and life does exist without alcohol -
it has gotten a little extreme and we all know better than to feed the need but many of do it anyway, me included - i have bitten my tongue but not sure how much longer i can hold back.
I've always been taught and promote that no question is a stupid question, i think I am gonna have to eat my words on that.
Peace!
"Serenity to accept the things I cannot change."
All of these posts about "those" posts are people trying to control.
If you want to INFLUENCE, send a pm. We are all people at varying degrees of sick and well.
I am guilty too, especially in the last couple mos. I have played on both sides of the fence, but trying to stay honest in my present moment. I am beginning to find my center again. Acceptance and letting go are key for me. The "colorful" posts don't bother me when I am centered.
Imo, the best solution is to NOT stick a hot iron in another person's open wounds. Hot iron = condescension = provocation. Don't fuel the fire.
Give the best positive support you can or leave it be.
good post....
The FULL Moon!....i do love it
Hate leaning to the right though ---ROFL....throws me off balance..lol....I make it though
Peace and smiles
For me, the most important thing to know when I am in a bad place... That those who matter have not given up on me. That I CAN try again and that my presence is welcome both when I am sick and when I am well.
It is SO flippin HARD to BE sick especially in the presence of people who are well and even MORE so in the presence of people who think I don't belong.
If we scold them enough, maybe they will stop talking. Then what?
