Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Just watching you grow and thrive has been a huge joy in my life. If it weren't for you and a few others here, I would have given up on DS a long time ago.
Like the BB says on page 24, I really feel as though I've been rocketed into that fourth dimension of existence. My problem is that I'm linguistically challenged and I have trouble putting that experience into words without sounding like a charlatan, a fraud, a piece of sadness and a mind-fuck-- all of which I've been called here.
So I find myself posting less and less on this board because dealing with the feedback is just too draining and time-consuming. I'm planning another big photo project later this spring and I hope to add some of those pix to my profile. An AA friend of mine owns an Arabian horse farm, and I've offered to do the photography for his new website.
If I can't put it into words, then the next best thing is to show with pictures the beauty in the world around me that I see in everyday life.
Here's sample from yesterday's shoot:

Recovery - the principles and action of the 12 step program
Unity - connection to myself, others and a higher power
Service - being of use to others in general and working with those in recovery specifically.
Today there is no revelation and no inspiration in my sobriety. It just feels like the normal way to be.
I guess for today that will have to do.
:-)
Meetings, talking to people on the phone, commitments, making coffee, taking meetings into rehabs and detoxes.
I wanted so much to have a drink today. Its cinco de mayo after all right? Wrong:) I didnt....and I'm so glad.
What stopped me is how great I feel right now with 17 days of sobriety. What stopped me is knowing I could start this roller coaster again. thoughts of my beautiful kids outside playing while I made dinner. All that stopped me. And I'm so grateful.
