I believe that heaven and hell are states of the mind in the present and not in the here after. I can choose to live in hell or i could choose to do what i need to do to get out of my hell and live in heaven.
Why suffer? I am grateful that i have come out of my suffering. Nothing has changed. i just stopped grasping the things that make me suffer.

I am grateful for the day I quit existing and began living and everyday before that after that. I am grateful for the ability to be grateful. God is the top of my gratitude list at this moment right here, right now!

I have so many things I feel blessed for lately. When my faith was week and I drew away from God and did heavier drinking instead of asking for help from Him. I was ashamed and kept on drinking feeling hopeless. The bottle makes a pretty bad god. It was when I started praying again and built my strength up it became easier to find my sobriety. God never leaves you. You leave him. If you are sincere in repentance he will draw you back into his safety. It was praying to him in my times of need that my faith in Him became strong again. It was through the strength he blessed me with by his Holy Spirit, through my faith, praying for help and direction that I was able to draw close to him and become sober. I certainly prayed more than once about it for help and forgiveness. I would pray even when I didnt have a desire for a drink and thank Him for that.


It is not God that causes the pain in this world but Satan when he challenged Gods sovereignty and became the father of the lie when he deceived Adam and Eve. God is the one that does not allow Satan to test you past what you can endure. I would have no purpose or hope in life if I had not gone back to God. In knowing that I will not be tested beyond what I can endure I know through my prayer I can get through any test put in front of me for Satan to try and kill my faith in God. I wont ever allow that again. I am thankful I have drawn close to my God again and through I have so many things I feel blessed for lately. I would say I am thankful when my faith was week and I drew away form his Holy Spirit gives me the strength to stay sober.

i am grateful for the chance to make amends with my children and family, and others i hurt along the way. im grateful for having this site to come to and the meetings close by. im grateful to have a loving GOD that always does for me what i cant or wont do for myself even if at the time i dont think Hes made the right choice for me, i like to think im in control, and im grateful HE will show me that im not. im grateful for the new job i now have and ironically enough it is a cashier job at a truck stop that i use to do not so legal things at. GOD has been good to me and im grateful HE always will be. and lastly im grateful im not locked today and im sober.

Today I am most grateful for going to my first AA meeting.
