Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
But in recovery with the help of other alcoholics, my sponsor, working the program and God as I try to understand Him I have been able to embrace and accept pain as part of life. Not good at it all the time but I have other options rather than alcohol.
Firstly talking about it. Then depending on what sort of pain it is Physical, Mental or Emotional seeing the right people to get it sorted out. Its amazing what working a program can do to help instead of burying my head in the sand hoping it would go away .to actually doing something about it.

Pain sux! But it's a part of life and something I had/have to learn to accept, confront & conquer by healthy means. Today I'm thankful that I have the tools and choose to use them. :)
As time went by I slowly built up experience of having feelings sober and therefore built up some confidence that it was possible to feel all sorts of things without taking a drink to escape.
I have lots of feelings now - some "good", some "bad", but that is good because that is what life is all about. At the moment i have a huge amount of fear because of certain things going on. I'm not saying I like it but what i do like is the fact that drinking to get away from the fear, or the situation that is causing it, is not something that ever occurs to me. I have different ways of living life now.
