Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

You can too

Sorry about the "loneliness" trigger. That is a tough one. Maybe you just gotta break out and get more involved in life. I joined a bicycle riding club and guess what, several of the members are ex-drinkers!

Something you said scares me though. A few years ago I reconnected with my best friend from high school on Facebook. We exchanged just a couple posts and she told me to call her. I tried a few times with no luck, then a few times to find her voicemail was full. I tried to reach her a few more times on FB then gave up. She died about a year later. I found out from another mutual friend that she had been struggling with alcohol and it finally ruined her liver. She was 36. Her parents and friends said she had withdrawn from everyone. It scared the shit out of me but also broke my heart knowing that had we connected, we might have been able to help each other. Now I will never have a chance to hug her and tell her I know how she feels.
Sorry for the long post, but I guess I am asking you to reach out. There is someone who can help you and will not judge you. We will do for now and in times of desparation, but do seek out someone to be with you on this journey that I hope you will start today.
For example if u decide to quit, that's on you and if u decide to keep drinking, that's on you too.
There really is life without booze. Along time ago, I couldn't picture a day without it. Now I can't picture life with it. It truly is poison no matter what u call it: beer, wine, cocktail. It is all the same: poison.
