I love you and want you to get better and if DS helped you get that 40 days, maybe with some outside help(AA,therapy, whatever works for you) you can start anew. Please reconsider....Amber

I heard this speaker say one time that he was a 1 in a 100. He said he could be in a room with 100 people in which 99 of those people absolutely loved him yet he would find the 1 that didn't and wonder what the hell was the matter with him and why that 1 person did not. Sometimes we do not know why someone does what they do. Maybe their sponsor advised them, maybe they thought they were doing what was best for their program or maybe they really don't even know why for sure. And really in the scope of things does it really mean shit other than our feelings get hurt. My sponsor tells me that if my feelings get hurt that those are the feelings that I need to look at.

We are all assh*les when we drink, the thing is to get sober and stay that way. Leaving is not good, cause then you give in to the disease, if you offended someone just give your amends and that is the end of it. Take care and hope you don't go.

geez...don't go anna, stay & learn. there is valuable information posted here several times a day. i snag all the good stuff to use @ the jail for IOP classes. you do NOT have to participate, in the drunken, whiney or bickering posts. take the good, leave the BS. if we do not face our disease head-on, we'll never be able to put it at bay, or some might say - defeat it. i'm a recovering alkie, no way a recoverED one.

I don't know what to say to you. Peace and serenity await you if you choose....I have no idea where your path might take you. Counseling might help...usually doesn't hurt.

So when are you going to try AA? Cold turkey is not working, will power is not working. Why not stick around here, listen for a change, try going to 90 AA meetings in 90 days and get your ego out of your recovery. 40 days is a long time, especially when you are doing it cold turkey. Try my idea. I got to where I am by listening to those who came before me.

I am as sick as I have ever been. I am emotionally unstable, and I am overly sensitive and needy. Period. Drafter, you are right. Sobriety24, you are right. You are all right. However, all things considered, I need some space, and I need to get to meetings and I need to find a sponsor, and I need to work the program. DS helped me tremendously WHEN I was sober with some time. It is NOT helping me GET sober now, so I will do that on my own and be back when I feel a little bit better.

This is nothing personal to anyone here. I am sorry to bail. This is me trying to look out for me. It is me who is the problem, no one else, and if it was someone else, it would their problem not mine. (Thx Glad)

I'm with everyone here, you too howtolive. Already said and so true- we are all assholes when drunk. You know what's best for you and sounds like you are doing it. Good for you. I think ds is great but it's too damn easy to drink at home while sitting behind a keyboard. Your struggling but your taking action and doing something about it! I think some people on ds spend too much time here which could never substitute one on one or group contact in person at least for me. There has to be balance. It's very healthy to branch outside of ds even though there is good support and great people here. Hope to see you again when you are ready. Yeah, don't worry about what someone thinks of you. You have your own path. Your sobriety is more important. Peace
