An atheist is one that claims to have absolute knowledge that there is no one with absolute knowledge.

Jimmy meet Jim a friend and a community leader (it is NOT as glamorous or as powerful as it sounds). Jim rocks but he has to reign it in every now and then. Not that often as you can see. He didn't delete your thread or the other one. Actually you can't delete. You can only close the thread to 'no new replies'. Chill.

chubbub - your statement about atheism is not true, there are many different types of atheist with differing views but athiesm can be as simple as the belief that there is more evidence to support the idea that there is no god than there is to support that there is a god. This is as apposed to agnostics who are not sure either way.

I have to say that the statement "People like that are a waste....." does not attract me to your form of spirituality whatever that may be.

No point in any beliefs unless they are actually translated into spiritual attitudes and behaviour.

nodp...I have to say that I think your closing the other thread disrespects his right to say it wasn't working for HIM. I did not find him to be disrespecting of anyone else...so I'm puzzled as to why it is closed.

While religion CAN be helpful to perhaps MOST it can also be a stumbling block to others dealing with alcohol. I thought most of the discussion was actually pretty cordial and no personal attacks made. I'm very disappointed that you closed the thread. # 6 did not appear to be violated to me.....he was NOT trying to impose his beliefs on ANYONE! I know its your call but I don't think it a good one...IMO...oops sorry just injected personal opinion.

I totally agree there is a God Jimmy. Didn't always though. I spent the first 9 years of sobriety with my back turned to Him, but I have a renewed relationship with God today. I also didn't see anything wrong with SirDALot's views, and thought everyone replies were their personal opinions, and not abusive.

I respect SDALots right to his belief there is no God, and as others asked him, for him to respect theirs. I didn't see him disrespecting any religion, unless you consider AA a religion, and I don't. Maybe I missed some religious abuse in the replies??

I don't think Sirdrankalot was imposing his beliefs on me or anyone else. He was expressing his personal opinion, and while I think he was wrong, I also believe he had every right to do it.

We get in more heated arguments about AA on a daily basis on this forum, and the thread in question did not come close to this. From what I could see, most of the replies were simply an expression of other peoples opinion and honest disagreement.

I would love to share-there are so many but just the last time he was there was my dui.what a long story I will try to make it short.wasted, alone,driving in the mountian at night(I cant see at night,2 driver side tires worn to the rim,you could only see shavings from the tire.driving on the highway to the mountians for hours totally blacked out.and I didnt wreck my car or hurt anyone.he basically had me pulled over and safely put me in jail.
