Two years

I just wanted to say that I have two years again as of today. I am very thankful. Every time I go back to drinking I loose who I am. It has taken me two years to get back to "me". This last time I never thought I could stop again but by the grace of God.

Drinking was spiking my blood pressure so I was afraid of have another stroke. I would actually take my blood pressure before I would start drinking. I just couldn't stop I could get one day but that was it. I started out praying for God's strength. I started running. I took everything one day at a time. I didn't count days or even dump my bottle out I wanted to finish it but I know that will lead to many more bottles. I finally learned I can't drink because it's too hard to stop.

Congratulations on two years! Like you I had a couple of years once but lost it because I was just hanging on by my fingernails to what was a pretty miserable time of fighting the mental obsession to drink.

My sobriety is a much happier and lasting affair since God is in the driving seat.

Congratulations! I think staying sober is the easier softer way to get through life. It also is the best way to live life and start enjoying it! Life still happens and it will at times be difficult but it will pass. The good times will pass too. Just try to stay sober one day at a time and to help another person and you won't have to have another two years again.

Good to hear you have 2 years up and thanks for posting because it lets those early in sobriety see it can be done.

I like your Avatar "What matters most is how you see yourself." It reminds me of the poem "The man/gal in the glass."

I printed a few wallet card size pictures like your avatar laminated with that on the front and the Serenity Prayer on the back and would hand them out at meetings along with a few others I would make.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
