Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Life is so much better sober , c'mon.

I am very sorry that you have had such a bad week and so many difficult emotions to deal with. However, if you are suffering from untreated alcoholism you will always find reasons to drink. You cannot control your intake and once you take a drink there will be no stopping.
How about accepting the reality of where you are and looking for a solution that works?
There are other options out there. Search for them, cling to them and you will find that you may not need alcohol to deal with them in the future because you've learned how others do it.
I wish you peace.

It has been suggested to me to try a different kind of therapy...EMDR.
Read about it. It seems like a silly concept to me, but I read and have heard from real people in my life that this treatment works for a variety of issues...PTSD, Depression...etc.
I think my alcohol problem is related to these underlying causes so I am going to try EMDR and see if I can develop new coping skills.
Its good you haven't gone on a full blown bender :(.
Keep trying not to drink and keep trying to find ways to help yourself so that you can have different coping skills (I have to take this same advice).
