Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Thanks for the reminder.

If we are talking about alcoholism here, then there is no way you would get an 80% success in combatting alcoholism for just showing up at meetings or whatever, it takes a lot more than that to get sober and, more importantly, to stay sober - like a willingness to go to any lengths!

normally, a good premise though.....
Its a statement by a fellow human- being I guess that only counts if someone has no issues with this person or someone who reminds one of this person..... Unfortunately healing is slow and Resentments flow freely...

I got a grand ol' f8ck you from the peanut gallery tonight!!!
I like it when they pay attention.

My point is that slogans or one-liners may have an element of truth but they are often open to much misinterpretation and can therefore be dangerous in a way. It's like some of the slogans that are well-known around the rooms of AA which are actually not a part of the AA programme, stuff like
"Don't drink and keep coming back" - some can't do that if they are very ill.
"Think, think, think" - about what exactly? Anything? The problem with most alkies is they think too much and don't actually do much - AA is primarily a programme of action, working through the Steps and carrying the message to others.
Just a couple of examples....
