Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I have been real fortunate during alot of these letting go times-reevaluating my the emotional investment times, to have had others to bounce it off of preferably someone open to the possibilities leaving claw marks on my emotional state it leaves as I'm not willing to accept it may be far older than jusTT the issue at hand!
I hear you a 100% here maybe do some investigating of things like ACOA's laundry list and give yourself a break and try and see it from a different light!

I know that they will pass. Hard to let them go.
So thanks okiyoe for the suggestions...
Unfortunately I'm not able to listen to songs right now. So I go inside myself, the danger is that I close my petals and the anger might stay inside as well...
talk to my God...sitting in the garden....asking and asking and asking...talking and asking and listening...and peace eventually comes...if I'm lucky....the songs of the leaves in the wind. Angry wind, peaceful songs.
At least that works for me.
I think that some of us, assume, think...that we are the only ones suffering....that's never true.
Also I found that walking on my treadmill or cleaning something helps me a lot.
But still something I have to work on.
Freedom4Ever said something really important there - it's a spiritual discipline to refrain from judging others too harshly and making hasty assumptions. Expectations of others, by setting the bar too high, can lead to resentment, which people like us can pay a very heavy price for.
I find a daily Step 10 - self-examination - essential. There is very little I can do about other people's actions but, with God's help through prayer and meditation (Step 11) I can change the way I see things and take right action on my part.
Self-pity is destructive too so nothing helps more to take me out of wallowing in self than thinking of someone else instead and trying to be helpful and do something to make a positive difference.
That's my route Bob, God takes my anger if i put in right action. I can't do it alone.

For years in AA people kept telling me I was angry - I thought they were mad because I didn't feel it. Two and a half years into sobriety I am barking mad, locked up mad and it was all due to anger. I was homicidal (only to certain people you understand, you know people who sat next to me on a bus, people who dropped litter or spat in the street, people in front and behind me in a queue etc etc) - see told you I was mad but I also decided to kill my granddaughter because I was afraid that someone would hurt her.
it really got that bad! I had been locked up for 8 months when they let me go home, it was Easter weekend 1997 and I knew that I would not return.
A few days later the penny dropped and I realised that all of this pain and suffering had ultimately been caused by resentment, which of course is anger. I knew if I didn't let it go, it was going to kill me. It was hard, but I stopped running the old resentment tape in my head, you know the one we run to keep our anger stoked so that no one was gonna hurt me any more. I put it down Bob and I asked God (HP or whatever) to help me see how I could let that go, it happened slowly but it did happen. Please make sure that you are sure that you really REALLY do want to let it go and if you do, you will.
Take care of yourself!
