I've been on and off the wagon for years. I've gotten so bad lately and have hurt so many people. I want to get sober and am on day 3. I want to get back to AA  because I know for me it helps. Looking forward to getting to know others who understand the struggle.

When I quit 9 years ago, I also felt a strong need to connect to others who had been in my shoes because I wanted to know exactly what to expect. That's why AA meetings were so helpful to me. It took awhile for me to get to a meeting because I was so fearful but pushing myself to go through the door with the small sign which read "AA meeting inside" was the best thing I've ever done. I felt I belonged because the only thing I was told I needed, was a desire to quit drinking. The 12 steps led me on the road to peace and happiness!

Every day sober is a victory, so be very proud of yourself for that. I'm on day 2 so I'm right there with you. It's so much easier to go back to drinking. But it's not worth it. It only hurts us and those around us. Next time you're tempted to drink think about the painful feelings it has caused you and tell yourself you're stronger than that and won't go down that path again. Stay strong. Get sober and take care of yourself then work on rebuilding relationships​ with those you have hurt. But you have to start with yourself first.

Bob, Dad suffered from the same problem for so many years. I do know a little about it in that sense. I am so proud of you for working this out. Your baby needs you. I need your friendship. Hang in there, my dear friend. I am praying for you.

Sorry to hear bout the discouragement you have been facing. I definitely will encourage you to get back into AA. You are not alone. Many of us have been done that road. Feel free to reach out to any of us. Love to talk to you and give you some ideas. Praying for you my friend.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
