Just watched a very interesting and thought provoking DVD called Pleasure Unwoven - An in depth look at the debate over whether or not addiction can really be considered a "disease"?

I have been convinced that choice arguments against the disease concept of alcoholism are flawed for a long time as they dont come close to describing my experience. Very interesting to hear about more recent developments in understanding the brain and how they tie into a disease concept.
Leaves me with lots of interesting questions to explore for myself. Not questions about whether I believe in the disease concept which I do but about how developments in neuroscience might fit in with other things that I believe (or not)??
Would recommend reading the pdf and be interested in other people's thoughts.My sponsor and I have just spent an hour or so talking about the DVD and its been really cool.

hmmmm and with a person closer to being inebriated or reeling from it... What occurs?
Interesting point, and choice is probably just a far off dream with very little validity . Because the brain is compromised in either case. Sober or just getting sober.
