As most AA meetings across the country are shutting down temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was wondering if we could perhaps add a temporary service with one of us volunteering for a day to be here for anyone arriving at our site needing additional one on one support?  


The key volunteer contact would post this daily and anyone could friend that person if they wanted to talk via text rather than the group as a whole.   An AA background wouldn't be necessary, just a willingness to help.  


Any thoughts?   I could go first and draft a post that other could copy paste if they were interested in volunteering for a 24 period.

That’s a nice idea. I message with a few people through DS and it’s good to have ‘one on one time. Maybe put out a post to see if there’s interest. Folks could just ‘like’ it if they don’t want to write a response. I’m a bachelor for a few months so I have nights free. Days are busy with planting season here on top of the usual.

thing is we do not have chat here....they would need to be trustworthy to get my cell to start texting so I am bowing out of this....

Thanks AdelynRene. I'll mention using the Daily Strength text message option, but if you volunteer and have someone you think Skype-ing would be helpful. that's fine too.

So I'll post the invitation today and take a 2 day shift through Thursday evening. If anyone else is interested, please copy and past my invitation or feel free to draft your own.
