Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Hi everyone, I just joined DS today. I have years and years of problem drinking and tried many many times to stop. It got very out of control recently and when I stopped drinking I feel anxious and fearful most of the time. There are sudden changes happening in my life which I have no control over. I lived to drink, didn't want to talk to people and still don't. Isolated myself away day and night for years drinking alone and not remembering what I did in my own house. Had 2 bad accidents at home and had to go to Hospital Emergency.
When I stopped drinking recently I realised the hell I have created for myself. I am anxious, depressed, overwhelmed and very very scared and alone. I have absolutely no friends, unable to work, and now the possiblity of homelessness. I have been praying to God for help and forgiveness and asking for all these horrible feelings to be taken away from me. Alcohol has destroyed my soul. Is it possible to get it back?
12 days sober today.
God bless you all for being here
