Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I blamed others for everything, it was always their fault, once I became sober and did the necessary work everything changed.
I took a good hard look at myself and became aware of my faults/defects and did what was needed to work on changing them and becoming a better human being that can love herself.
We are not responsible for anyone other than ourselves, we need to stop judging others and just focus on us - that is enough work in itself.
When we can achieve that, we are truly set free and life becomes a happy, joyous and free experience x (there are always going to be those crappy days, but we get begin to get through them alot easier)
And if you have an affair, that's just another thing for you to feel guilt, shame and anger - and a perfect excuse and justification to start drinking again - just sayin !
The disease wants you to drink and die.
For me Drink = Die
To stay sober I had to learn ways to deal with problems, I learned I am not perfect and actually drank to escape from ME. I was not enough.
The booze is always going to be there, but I choose not to cheat and cut corners. I deal with life and more important I give myself a break. I say I’m enough
Why do you drink?
As a child did you have feelings of “less than” did you feel like the world was against you?
Do you have trouble looking in a mirror?
Are you envious of people that “have it together”?
Are you lazy.
Do you procrastinate?
Do you start something and quickly tire?
Is your car a mess?
Do you not want to grow up?
Do you fear people not loving you?
Do you worry ?
See these are attributes I have that booze “fixed”. Only problem is alcoholIS a drug and I needed more and more to produce the same effect. Then I would go over the line and get wasted and for awhile my mind was not thinking and life was “great”
The liquor is not the problem it’s the licker...
I suggest if you can’t stay quit to find a group that can show you how it can be done
I hope you can put the romance of alcohol in your past. It’s only been a few months and you deserve to really give it some time. At least get through the winter and enjoy the feeling of spring sober. Hell just get through today lol. Then tomorrow....
I love the above reply from 1is2. To not have the impulse to pick up a drink we have to get real with ourselves.
This has been an ongoing process for me as I have lived a lifetime habit of avoidance. I see every little victory as part of the whole of healing now. It’s all connected and adds up to our life. Believe it or not lol.
January 20 -2022 has a better ring to it. This one is too dramatic...... So done with reality tv land. And I don’t even watch tv wtf!
Thank you for the insights once again. You are all such wise creatures. I respect your true vision and loyalty to the truth of things.
