Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Like Huw said, if you really can't stomach AA then find a place where you can develop as a spiritual woman. Try giving of yourself rather than asking for something, you will find that your whole perspective of life changes.
I wish you well and hope that you find what you are looking for.

PS If you find something that really works for you, you could come back here and share it because I think there are lots of people in your situation, they may not post here but I think they 'listen in' in the hope of finding an answer to the same problem.
I like the idea of a holistic approach to recovery - with the focus not just on spirituality. I too have found that finding a creative outlet is really important. My wqork has been really important in recovery as have hobbies. I need to look at things like giving up smoking and perhaps focusing on my physical health a little more and, as it says, basically "caring for myself".
Note though, that even the guy that wrote that post was started off by his first sponsor with a heavy focus on spirituality. He says he moved on with his second sponsor and his recovery really took off in all sorts of directions. I wonder if that would have happened if he hadn't first built a solid spiritual base?
He says about working through the steps and focusing on spirituality: "This produced fairly stable growth but it wasnt anything revolutionary."
Stability, not skimping on sand and mortar in the ingredients, building our foundations and corner stone is what we need in the early days. We start with the core and move out.
So: "This produced fairly stable growth but it wasnt anything revolutionary." - is exactly what we need to recover from alcoholism and to produce a platform to reach for the stars.
I can't think of anything that hasn't already been posted other than
"Even if you don't like what these folks say, it won't cost you a thing to just consider that they might just know what they're talkin' about"
Best Wishes
And then I realized that what I really missed was the larger than life feelings that came with courting chaos all the time. I didn't know how to enjoy myself in healthy ways. But in time, i learned how to do that, how to really stop and smell the roses.
Sobriety has given me many gifts including how to truly enjoy living in the moment. When I laugh now, it's heart felt. I generally feel good most of the time. I have learned how to play in recovery, to be silly and profound. Now, that really is a technicolour existence, one where the colours actually mean something to me.
Hang in there. Life really will get better and you'll find love and laughter in places you never thought to look before.
Yes, there is a substitute and it is vastly more than that. It is a fellowship in Alcoholics Anonymous. There you will find release from care, boredom and worry. Your imagination will be fired. Life will mean something at last. The most satisfactory years of your existence lie ahead. Thus we find the fellowship, and so will you.'

My life sober is sometimes not very exciting but I like that, its not boring just peaceful, and it is never as tedious as spending night after night lying on my bathroom floor!
I have rediscovered enjoying things I used to enjoy doing.
I know its easy to say but I think you should try harder. No offence meant.
Hang in there you'll make it.
