Ha!!! I knew this topic would get looked at!!
This is a freakishly difficult topic to post. First comes the admission that I have not had sex since I have sobered up. Next comes the admission that I have no idea how to get sex now that I am sober. I know for those of you still with your spouses that this may not be an issue but for some of us it is. I have been legally separated from my stbx for over 18 months. I also know that it is recommended that people stay away from relationships for their first year of sobriety. I also know that that human beings have needs and the ones who say you dont need sex are not the ones haveing to live without it. I am not obsessing about sex, it is something that is truly missing in my life. A partner would be nice but now that I am no longer drinking I dont seem to have the abilily to "go after" interested persons. I get shy or find an excuse or something. I mean damn!!! I am pretty sure I am not gay. There I put it out there. Anyone want to take a stab at it or joke about it.

Best to you...and we have to believe there is a right person out there for all of us. (o;
1. I didn't have anything really worth bringing to the relationship table during my first year of sobriety to begin with
2. By doing my fourth step inventories and lists the women I had been with in the past all conformed to a certain type of person pattern
3. I know know myself better and the ideals I wish to form regarding sex and relationships and now as a result of this I have standards about who I would like to be with and now actually have something to bring to the relationship table
Now I find that what I am looking for is someone spiritually minded who I can be intimate with on more levels than just sexual levels and while I have begun dating, I am approaching this in ways different than I ever have in the past. Mostly, I do want to ever hurt the person I am with like I have women in the past by my actions ever again. Thank God for page 69 of the big book, my sponsor, and other people whom I have shared with about this for helping me to sort some of this stuff out and to form these new ideals.

Ya know, take it slow and make some great friends. You will eventually meet a woman who is in the same position as you are. A respectable woman interested in meeting a respectable man.
Can you get it up since you've been sober?

Other than that, joey, I think perhaps you just are maturing. It happens to the worst of us.
Sex really is not that much enjoyable unless with someone you have a heart-to-heart relationship with.

I never paid any attention to the "year" thing in the past -- I am this time; maybe that'll make the difference and I'll stick with it and stay sober for a whole year.
But I think some people describe as THIRTEEN STEPPING what I would describe as "Life."
