He needs to stop drinking and see a doctor about those seizures. Could be more than alcoholism. You can go to Alanon for families. xoxo

His age and location kinda matter. I would of been on the phone to the ambulance immediately.....seizures can kill.
He seems to require medical detox.

He could be experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Not uncommon for heavy drinkers when they are coming off a drinking binge. Remember, alcohol effects every part of the brain.
He may also have an undiagnosed seizure disorder. In any case these seizures can be lethal if he has one and his airway becomes blocked.
He needs to see a doc ASAP and get help with detoxing safely.

you,re son needs medical help. Many alcohol dependant people die trying to stop without medical help, seisures and cardiac arrests being most common cause. sounds like you,re son needs dteox if he ready to accept help. regards Kirrie x

He needs to be evaluated by a physician. Wish I could be more helpful. Don't mess around with these seizures. If he goes into DT's, the seizures could cause cardiac collapse.

If he is an adult
If he lives away from you
If he is married
Do you drink
Are you close emotionally

Too many variables....check out AL-ANON

Telling him what to do.... often has the reverse effect on an alcoholic. There is a fine line between bitching or offering help, which you only be able to do emotionally if not close with him.

Linda, I had seizure when I was withdrawing. I almost died. He needs to go to ER now. This is not something to discuss on a chat board. Call an ambulance for him immediately.
