Things are a little slow so I thought I'd tell y'all a little story.  I went on a ride yesterday when the balloon fest was in a nearby town.  It had been on my bucket list for a long time.  It was alot of fun and when it was over, the pilot passed around champagne for a toast which, he said, was traditional after a successful flight.  i respectfully declined and toasted with gatorade instead. I think I made a joke out of it and said I was under 18 and everybody laughed.  


So don't be afraid to say no in any situation.  I think most people are respectful of our right to choose differently.

Good on you bob. I've declined boose very very few times because Im usually not around the stuff. My most recent was my nextdoorneighbor with some of his worker crew on front porch drinking when I drove up. They offered me beer. I did tell them they didn't have enought-and Anheisrr Bush didnt have enough for me too. I told them my yrs of sobriety since last dribk.

Funny thing though I gifted them at Christmas and they reciprocated with kaluha flavored coffee! No booze in it but tastes like booze I drank coffee and kaluha in my days

Thanks Kevin! I use to stress out over people judging me but over time I learned people will either accept me sober or not accept me at all, it's their choice, and not something I have control over so I accept it and I no longer let it bother me.

glad to hear this!
I've found myself in a lot of awkward situations.
So glad you got to have a good time and finish out the day with everyone else without having to drink.
