We came to the program as supplicants, literally at the end of our ropes. Sooner or later, by practicing the principles of the Twelve Steps, we discover within ourselves a very precious thing. We uncover something with which we can be comfortable in all places and situations. We gain strength and grow with the help of God as we understand him, with the fellowship of the program, and by applying the Twelve steps to our lives. Can anyone take my new life away from me?

No one can take my new life away but me. I can neglect or even reject my practice of the AA principles (most times unknowingly) which always leads me to misery. My faith in God directs my path when I go astray. I now embrace the comfort and strength of my precious life for myself and others by working and practicing the 12 steps. AA has freed me from the bondage of alcohol and has renewed my life beyond belief!

Ah, but then the miracle happened. At 60 days I had all the answers for myself, and by 90 days I had it down to a science for everyone else. Life was good and I was brimming with gratitude and positive energy.

Fortunately, I also had a sponsor who kept saying, "This too will pass..."
