Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Good morning. I've been in and out of AA for a year now. I was able to put six months together before falling off the wagon a few months ago. Since then I've only been able to put a week together at most and then back to the drink. 2 weeks ago I decided that whatever I was doing was not working so I met with a therapist and began actually working AA with a sponsor. I've built a support group in AA with folks who have great recoveries. I 'm going to meetings everyday and calling my sponsor. We will begin step 1 tomorrow. I feel like I might be finally doing this thing the correct way....at least starting to. Since beginning this new strategy I've avoided the drink 12 out of 14 days. Both slips were on a Saturday afternoon. I did not get drunk either time and called my sponsor both times. I used to rely on the AA clich "progress not perfection" as an excuse to drink......wow the drunk's mind is insane. Now I use it as a way to move forward after I slip. In no way am I minimizing my slip, but I have to move forward. I'm human. I'm sick. It took a long time for me to get this bad and it's going to take time to recover. 3 weeks ago, those slips would have turned into 3 day benders so I do think there has been progress. My ultimate goal is to never drink again. The only way I can reach that goal is to not drink today. For everyone struggling, "easy does it." Don't be too hard on yourself. Keep moving forward. Progress not perfection. Have a peaceful day.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I came across a nice article about that if anyone wants to read:

God Bless!
Like you I love "progress not perfection". I think everything in life is like this, especially when raising kids, kids are never perfect, you just want to keep them progressing along.
Keep it up!
