Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

You are an inspiration to myself and many others here. Thank you for bringing a different perspective to the mix. I am proud of you for the strength you are showing tonight. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. 6 months is huge. I can't think of a better way for you to honor your dad than to be present and sober to celebrate his life and see him off to the next leg of his journey.
Cherish yourself for where you are today. When this passes, I promise you will look back on it with peace in your heart for maintaining your sobriety through it. Your presence of mind is the greatest gift you can give to yourself and your loved ones now and always.

My best friend just lost his dad and stayed sober through the whole ordeal. I am proud of him and proud of you.

Well done for getting to half a year, that is alot of 24 hours :)
Today was visitation. Tomorrow is the service, then a get together. There's lots of really good beer along with wine and vodka. And I have thought about having a beer. It looks really good and might take the edge off the day. But I won't. I'll have some lemonade.
I'll treat myself to an eclair for dessert!
