Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I don't know if anyone else feels this way but I know that posting my feelings on this site and writing my thoughts down really helps remind me of why I shouldn't drink. I of course remember how bad I feel after I drink but seeing it written down about the guilt, sadness, depression, overall physical effects is a more precise way of reminding myself to not drink. After all my judgment is easily clouded by wanting to drink so my memory of the last time I drank might not seem all that "bad". But when I see my thoughts written here it really takes me back to truly how bad I was feeling and is a reminder.

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

Writing down your thoughts can certainly be helpful. The memory of how bad it really was begins to fade after a while and the thought often comes that a couple of drinks would do no harm - that is part of the insanity of alcoholism.
However, I have personally found that I had to do more than just write about it. I had to find a way of changing my thinking so that alcohol was no longer in the equation.
so to you I say whatever will help you to keep the plug in the jug is the best thing going....it is my goal to keep the plug in the jug and if I can do that I will be successful where I have never succeeded previously....staying sober is a commitment to my own values...I do not want to ever drive drunk again...I never got consequences like some have for that behavior unless you consider the internal turmoil that it created for me knowing how drunk I was when I made my way home from the drinking by driving drunk....

God had other plans for me besides dying drunk. I have a life worth living today.
While I'm typing this reply to you GSP, I feel like I might have met you on this board before. Maybe not. Anyway, sobriety ain't easy but it's do-able. Best wishes, Dianna
