Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I had already begun my journey from not believing God would work in my life for anything I needed, to seeing evidence of A Power of some kind which was Greater than me and my disbelief.
However, I had still to experience the huge emotional displacement and rearrangement of the guiding forces of my ideas, emotions and attitudes.
I still needed my vital spiritual experience. I have had the slow educational variety. I experienced my perspective changing ever so slightly day by day, experience by experience. This began as a result of studying pages 448 through 452.
The successful beginning of my changing perspective started especially when I was able to begin accepting my alcoholism.
When it came to me that,' it is true that I ---- of all people, strange as it may seem, and even though I didn't give my permission----really, really am an alcoholic of sorts. And it's all right with me.Then I was able to ask myself what am I going to do about it? and when I stopped living in the problem and began living in the answer, the problem went away.
I then found that acceptance was the answer to all my problems. When I found accepting everything in my life as being exactly the way it's suppose to be at this moment, a happiness, a peacefulness I had not felt since as a small child began to be what I felt rather than that edgy anxiety and fear.
This new acceptance perception allowed me to look for solution rather than being stuck in focus on not being able to drink. I began to see it was me that needed to change not the world and the people in it. Freedom came with this perception of accountability for self. And oh the story goes on and on and on :-) This all has remained true throughout the years and brought me to my saying, " I always find what I am looking for!"
I create more of what I focus upon and so I choose that focus carefully.
