I would like to attend online AA meetings. Any suggestions? I am a young woman and I desire to stop drinking b/c I have not been able to control it for several years now and it severely negatively affects my physical and mental health, I have health problems and mental health problems, and I know that but I can't stop drinking

HI AA ON LINE IS GOOD BUT YOU MIGHT FIND GOING TO A MEETING MORE HELP FULL AS YOU WILL MEET SO MANY PEOPLE THE SAME AS YOU WITH THE SAME ISSUES ,I HAVE IBS BUT I DEAL WIYH MINE WITH DIET ,AND NOT GETTING STRESSED OUT ,MY DEPRESION GOT BETTER WHEN I PUT THE DRINK DOWN AND WENT TO AA 23 YRS AGO ,GOING THERE SAVED MY LIFE AND KEPT ME SANE GOOD LUCK X

I would like to attend online meetings also. I'll let you know if I find anything. I am especially interested in a big book or step meeting. Anyone knows where to find this kind of meeting online?

yes, there are online meetings....at a couple different sites:

also, at recovery realm, you can look up face to face meetings in your area...

I attend Al Anon meetings at www.stepchat.com. There are AA meetings there too as well as other 12 step programs...the meetings there are awesome. Nothing beats f2f meetings but if you are in a situation where you cannot get to f2f meetings regularly StepChat is fantastic!

There's also an online support site for any type of recovering person (i.e. NA, AA, alanon, OA...and so on) You can be anonymous also.. There are people willing to sponsor.. but I personally think nothing beats one on one contact with another human to work the steps with. Otherwise drinking pretty much seems to always make it's way back.. so anywho, the site is intherooms.com
