Okay, I wasn't going to post this ( i know it is a touchie subject for some) but it is still really bothering me...why? I am not sure, I know this lady was WRONG about me...
Okay so, I went into work today, did my stuff then went over to watch the very beginning of the inauguration with my boss....she told me that a woman had called and complained on me and a few others...she said that last sunday (when it is crazy busy, I work as a server in the AM)...that I would not look her in the eyes and treated her differently(it was a black woman)...WHAT? I was in a really good mood that day....I AM NOT prejudice...I would never do this and felt really angry that I would be accused of it...I defined myself fiercely to my boss and she trust what I said, she knows me BUT this woman did not know this....she did not KNOW me, she made assumptions of me....
I treat every one equally....growing up I was always asked if I was mixed because I am dark completed...it was not a big deal to me, and sometimes helped me too....I went to a mostly black high school, and had lots of friends...
OKAY, I do not have to defend myself anymore I KNOW WHO I AM....I KNOW THAT I AM NOT WHAT SHE SAID I WAS...
sorry for being long winded....but she was reflecting her own insecurities on me, and what if my boss had not know me that well? what if I had been suspended or fired?
How do I get past this anger for this woman?
I want to get past it but it has ate at me all day....
This is a part of how I will remember this day in history...

I was raised with the ideal that racism is wrong and that ideal is strong in the very core of my being.
I will tell you this, though:
I have experienced more racism by non-whities and it floors me.
I am proud us Americans chose a black American.
But the only racism I have experienced has been against me, just cuz I'm white.
I probably should not have said this, but it's true.
and yes crazytalk, I do need to find a way to let go of this resentment for this woman...I will pray for her...I know that she has some issues and I hope that she can see things in a different light soon....

You will never get this day back. Don't waste time on people or their opinions that you have no control over.
If you have taken a good look at the situation and realize it's not true, why not just let it go. You know that old saying "you can please some of the people some of the time...........but you can't please all people all of the time?

In this case it affected your work so some self defense was needed. That being said the only thing that truly matters is what's in your heart and what God thinks of you.
