Are recovering people the only ones ever taught to look in the miiror before they critize? I know we're not, but thank HP that AA taught me how to be a little hard on myself.
Today at work one of the biggest gossips in the place said when refering to someone else who was two faced "I wasn't raised that way, I don't talk about others" I about fell over backwards.
Do people listen to what comes out of their own mouths?
In a similar, humorus ( to me) incident the other day a women who has been having an affair well known in our small town said: "I haven't been able to exercise in ages due to a knee injury" I chuckled to myself and bit my tongue and did not say: "That not what I heard"

We all have our flaws and we all have our strengths.

I am just glad I know the difference most of the time today.

I know a lot of really incredible "normies" who live good and decent lives without a "program". Even on my best days, I am no match for some of them.

donttread, awsome post... glad you posted it! I've been known to say shit like "normies are the sick ones, not us", etc for that reason. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's thought about this. But yeah... I've heard (and said) several times in meetings that the 12 step program (or other spiritual self improvement program) is needed by almost everyone, it's just that we don't have a choice in the matter... we either do it or die drunks. I guess the normies have the option to choose not to work on themselves, and they'll just be nasty miserable human beings but won't drink themselves to death as a result. Before I start sounding like I'm a stone-thrower here... I work a shitty program at best, and am probably somewhere in the middle of the spectrum of spiritual health. Nowhere near the top, by any stretch of imagination. But far from the bottom... and for that, I am thankfull

HP works in mysterious ways.....strange she is not living honestly and there she is with a knee injury...yep, what goes around comes around.

The great thing about knowing who the gossips are at work....if you ever want anything to get back, you know who to tell :)

As people recovering from something of an emotional as well as physical sickness, I think we are more inclined to do introspection in more depth than "the others". Before I started healing myself, I was thinking aloud on an hourly basis, never fearing repercussions of anything close to conscience.
Yep! I have changed. And no matter what anybody tells me, I know it is for the better!
