Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Secondly, I associate the flavor of beer with alcohol, so it's too tempting for me to get anywhere near that stuff if I want to maintain sobriety.
If you are an alcoholic, beware. If you are a heavy drinker trying to moderate, then I guess it could work for you.
Then again, I am alcoholic...no heavy drinker here!
I never find sites like this either until I admitted to myself I was alcoholic. Thats just me though.
Thanks for post...always love to reflect on the ways I tried to 'moderate' before I realised the only way for me was complete abstinence :)
Then I got to thinking, If I was a cocaine addict , what purpose would it serve to snort a line of flower?
Why would I drink it? Well, in the past when I was not drinking ** I did**. Why? I loved the taste, the "act" of drinking. The realiity is I needed to change EVERYTHING to stay sober. Sipping a non alcoholic beer was too close for this alcoholic.
I tried it a long time ago with good intentions and couldn't understand why I ended up drunk. I didn't know about the physical allergy in those days.
I'll take a diet with lime please
A few minutes ago I had a sip of a fruit based vitamin energy drink. Tasted like it might be fermented and I ran and spit it out. I checked, there was no alcohol in it, but even having a bit of an under taste like beer scared me.
Don't know why that bothered me so much when I have no problem cooking with wine or beer. (and yes, I know all about how much alcohol burns off in what time frame.)
Peace!
I ended up drinking 12 packs of it during Football and Hockey games, and figured it was great (except it was really expensive because the best tasting was Buckler and Haake beck), but I knew there was something going on behind the scenes. Of course the little alcohol that is in it, just served to get back into my system and instigate a major relapse after 3-4 years of sobriety!!
Nice going, heh?
