Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I would agree that your best chance of staying sober is to find a sponsor and get through the work of the Steps. That is the programme of recovery.
I am glad you are finding the meetings helpful in the meantime, there is a lot of encouragement in the fellowship but the meetings and fellowship alone don't keep you sober long term.
PM me if you think I can help you further.
30,days is the mark you want to make a goal!
then 60
then 90
You'll be able to see your self transformed within this time frame-well your mind will have gone through what they call in AA is a psychic change-
hang in their It's only one day sober at a time-
just for today!
keep coming back!
There are a lot of us here who recovered through AA and who will be happy to help you - feel free to pm me anytime if you think I can help.
there is also a group called 'aaspokenhere' which you might find helpful!

stay focused, fight, dont stop, dont look back, dont quit!!!
if i can do this so can you!!! and thats the truth, there is nothing special about me but my will to stop, keep going your doing great!!
Meetings in the UK are GREAT and abundant. So if you don't find a sponsor at your home group, go to another meeting. When I was there, there were 4 meetings within a 1 mile radius of me.
Just keep working it one day at a time, one HOUR at a time if you have to and know that Alcohol is no longer an option for you.

I love drinking, but I can't do it- just like you. I guess some people can drink a lot and not act like jerks, get into trouble. Unfortunately I am just not one of them.
Stay sober and you will discover that you can think your way out of negative situations a lot more. I hope I can take my own advice...! I have to.
