This might sound really bad but here is my thinking...i have drank only once in a MONTH....I started a new job were i work days and have to get up at like 5am, so i CANT drink on those days...I am drinking tonight because i off tomorrow, if I can on,y drink once or twice a month then I am doing very good....I really think i can do this, I love my new job...I know a lot of you will call this denile, or whatever but i truly believe i have the will power and yes if need be turn it over to my high power when i need to be sober....I might be wrong but time will tell. I made a deal with myself, if i have to call into work once because of drinking, i will reconsider everything....I know a lot of you will laugh at this but i am not hurting anyone...I am single with no kids......I just want to escape once in a while...

What has happened to you in the past to make you come here in the first place?It will happen again.If it was a DUI,hopefully you won't hurt yourself or anyone else!!

I guess I relate to you. I have had some minor issues in the past but I am on the same road as you. I have been told it is a slippery slope. It has been working for me so far. I realize I abuse alcohol. However, still teetering on alcoholic. I guess time will tell. Good luck.

its just that both my father and brother are in recover...oh and my mother....it just makes me always check myself....i think i might just want to control it....i know it sounds stupid, but there has to be some people out there who are controled alcoholics and not in AA, which is why we dont hear about it....lol.....but really, i am being serious

You make me laugh, sound like me. I have no family members in recovery but alcoholism runs rampant in my family. I so know what you are talking about. I am able to control it too. However, if I don't keep myself in check. I really like to let loose with alcohol. I don't know.... I guess stay conscious with it. Be honest with yourself. that has worked for me so far.

I am not here because of DUI, i do not drink and drive....i am here because i did get out of hand with the drinking, working night, and being depressed....im on meds now and working days, to try to fix things

If this works for you great. I would suggest that you might want to kind of monitor you moods and attitudes and haow you get along with people dur the periods of time you're not drinking. If it causes no change there then you may be ok. if you find yourself getting moody arguemenative short or ill temperred you may want to rethink. One other question to think about. Your employer calls you in tomorrow and says something like your laid off or we are going to change you hours to noon to 8PM what are you going to do then?

Hi Ashley,

It is good to see you have gained some control.I am your friend.I would like nothing more for you than a better life.As you can see lolo has it worked out,maybe you and her should hook up and exchange ideas.What do you think lolo?
