Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

You claim to be sober for years, but you sure don't act like on this forum. I think you're either drinking, us using drugs or whatever

i want to thank u for your concern. but im fine over here on my side of the street. i wont ask about your side of the street because well, its your side of the street

i had a wise old counselor tell me once (in alcohol treatment. u could tell he had the experience to talk about addiction) "if your not happier sober than u were drunk u wont b sober long".
drcopperhead
i prefer being happy to "poor me, poor me, pour me another drink"

i drank every day for 32yrs starting at the age of 15. i did every drug u could name. i havent drank since nov. 6 2005. as if its any of your business. yes i did have a relapse with pain pills but that was a yr ago next month. im an open book. im hiding nothing. i resent your attitude but its fine. i have broad shoulders. i disagree with other posters on here and in AA all the time.
drcopperhead
yes i still enjoy music. even the songs i listened to sitting on a barstool. when i sobered up my son was 16. after i had been sober a yr and he was 17 i told him that he was more mature at 17 than i was at 51 because when i sobered up i was still that 15yr old boy emotionally

You rock Dr C - forums sometime have people hitting out at what rubs with them as it's easy to do on the internet. Something they might never have the nerve to say to you eyeball to eyeball. There's a word for that type of behaviour! None of us have any idea who we are communicating with except through words we type.
