My Mother

My mom is an alcholoic. She has been to rehab twice and she does good for a while but so far this year she has been in the hospital with pancreatitis twice. She refuses to go to rehab again. She says she can do it on her on but she obviously can't. She is 63. I am at such a loss of what to do. She keeps telling me I don't understand. Any advice?

I know how you feel. I watched my own mother commit a slow suicide with the bottle knowing there was nothing I could do about it.
You can't force your mom to use the tools she was taught in rehab to stay sober. She has to be willing.

All you can do is take care of yourself. I highly recommend alanon meetings for you. You can learn alot more from others who are in your situation, then you can from us here.

Thank you so much. I will look that up. I had to force her to go to the hospital today. She said she just wanted to lay in bed and die. It's so hard to watch. She isn't even a bad mom. She has been a wonderful mom. I don't want to watch her kill herself.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
