Meetings ROCK! I always feel better especially if I say something that might help someone.

I am lucky I get to go to many meeting I travel all over this state and others close by anyway. I always feel better after a meeting even if I already feel good. Thanks gim

In my limited experience, I've been pleasantly surprised with each meeting (#2 under my belt today). It seems like the person that you least identify with ends up saying something that really hits home. And it's nice to have something to ponder for the rest of the day.

yes, but mostly. i do not believe there are no bad meetings. therte are some that i've been horrified in. but mostly....

I've also identified with vastly different people. What a common bond we share. And listened to the same speaker over time, yet heard different messages. I've had breaks from meetings, and don't attend all the time. But there are a few reasons I have for doing so. I'm grateful for my sobriety, and don't intend on putting at risk ceasing what has worked for me.

Sobriety plans need ongoing maintenance and continued growth, and I like AA meetings. I hear reminders and am inspired by many in the rooms, especially the newcomers so bravely reaching out. And I also get to contribute and help other alcoholics, as I was helped. But also I get to be near the spiritual ideas based on the 12 step program which is the foundation of my sobriety.

I go to one meeting at the same time every week, but I also attend others randomly or when a friend needs a hand to hold.

My higher power IS my community of sober sisters so that meeting for me represents acknowledgement of a power greater than myself. I trust I will be attending it for the rest of my sober life.

I do have trouble going to mixed meetings which are mostly guys. While I do appreciate the varied message I'm a bit...no a LOT ....intimidated. I don't have a clue how to "get over it"...the smaller meetings arn't as bad.

I LOVE my meetings. It's a wonderful experience to hold others and be held. I find them to be more in depth than DS. Maybe because of the eye contact, facial expressions, the real hugs, the smiles, the tears, the personal support we give and receive.... There is a spiritual fellowship with AA no matter who you are or where you have come. Doesn't matter about your decision of who your HP is or if you don't have one.... I go to meetings often, sometimes 2 a night and we all feel better afterward.

I love DS too! It's just a different experience of support for me. I love you all! I appreciate all your help peeps!
