Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I've been told in AA over the years that alcohol is just a symptom of my real problem, which is a spiritual and behavioral problem centered in the mind.
I've also been told that when I am tempted severely to drink, I've probably already relapsed. I take that to mean that I can relapse without drinking. That is because the drinking is just a symptom.
I've also been told I have an alcoholic mind and that I had one prior to ever tasting my first drink.
So, really, if all this is true, then why would I bother to count the days or years since my last drink? I should really be counting the days or years since I was an asshole and miserable.
Shit! Gimme another white chip and tell me to keep coming back!
