Hang in there. Go talk to someone. Go to the movies. Keep talking here. I think we all have good days and bad days, we just need to know that we can make it one more day sober. Pray and pray hard.

I went through the same emotions at about that point in my sobriety and I remember my sponser telling me I needed give my Higher Power control of my life and as simple as that sounds, it really helped. The explanation was that we all have free will and our Higher Power cannot help us unless we ask Him to! When I did that, I noticed alot of miracles happening in my life that were too numerous to call coincidence! Things got better and I felt better as a result!

Thanks you guys been digging into some spiritual literature and praying. I really do need to put God in charge and focus on staying sober and taking care of me the best I can! I am just grateful to know I am not alone. Thank you!

You have started out on a journey that can take you to wonderful places if you stick with it. Things that are worthwhile in life rarely come easy and if you think back I am sure that you will recall starting off on difficult challenges and thinking that you would never succeed, but bit by bit, you got there.

Sometimes slogans can be extremely annoying but I like the one that goes: “This too shall pass”.

On a lighter note, here is the alcoholic’s prayer for patience: “God, grant me patience but please grant it now”. Sometimes we have to wait.

I think we all have experienced this, and a lot continue even in sobriety. It's the alcoholism. The only thing you can do is find ways that will help you get through it. When we first try getting sober we don't know how to do it. It's frustrating and can drive us nuts. Lots of people just say, "Fuck it, " and go back to what's normal. Getting sober is abnormal to us. We often feel like we are struggling uphill all the time. It's very hard I find. But when we do start to find our way life starts taking on a new meaning and we get a better perspective on things. I have found that working out at the gym helps tremendously, but any exercise helps. Hang in there. Make a short daily schedule to bike ride, run, or just walk for an hour each day. Go to meetings. Get as active with your recovery as you were with your drinking. Wish you all the best. James
