Letting Go

I finally let go of everything, including my family who no longer exist to me at least.


How liberating it is to let go of everything that no longer matters and to be free from the shackles of pretence and betrayal.


I can now be the real me without permission or approval.


Hope and courage.

sadly I just lost a member of my family and if I were estranged from them I would never know of this death but I have been able to rebuild what I burned to ground in relationships thru drugs and alcoholism but I can understand it when family is no longer important....I have a cousin who estranged himself years ago from my family and we keep trying to be there should he want to talk or when we lose someone important to pass it to him.....his riches became a considerable influence to his life and left us in the wake of him leaving....I look up to him as successful still but the truth is he sees me as a failure and I am better to just keep the fence there....so I understand letting go....
on the death tonight of my Mom's sister that side of my family is very important to me and I am going to be doing everything I can to be present to help them grieve and to celebrate her life at funeral coming up which is to be small and about six hour drive to get to.....

I let my family go many years ago, for my own sanity, I couldn't stand the constant ups and downs, and it wasn't healthy for me. I have now moved on, I wish them all the best but know they cannot be in my life and that is a choice I have made for me.
