Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Go to a meeting. Doing the 12 steps alone isnt advisable, and working on yourself...well you are where we were when we first started to try to quit. Sick. So get some help from someone who is living in the solution. I'd suggest AA. In person. Go immediately.
If you need more, go to rehab. But take this seriously as its deadly serious and you are drinking yourself to death.
The information and instructions given in the Big Book can save your life and help you to recover but you will need some help with that so please go to a meeting and get a sponsor!
Please feel free to pm me if I can help

You're reading the big book but are you going to AA or some other group? It is important to have fellowship with like-minded people as non-alkies just can't relate even if they really try and want to.
Is your dependence a physical one or emotional one/ I am taking Camparal which is designed to curb the urges and it seems to be working. Perhaps discuss medication with your medical professional.
Don't give up and keep working towards the goal. Also don't beat yourself up too much. It took a long time to get to where you are now and the road to recovery will also be a long one but it can be manageable if you take it one day at a time. Sometimes you need to take it one hour at a time or say to yourself when the urge hits "I won't drink for this hour" this may give you time to reconsider and to let the urge dissipate.
Go to treatment. Best thing I ever did, I'm me again finally.
