Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Be proud that you are standing tall and each day sober is a huge accomplishment.
Take good care.
I would suggest putting off that bottle for another month. See if these feelings pass. Sobriety anniversaries are just irrationally difficult for some reason it seems. Don't cave on that notion. Just hang in there and wait it out. I believe you will get through this - it is nothing compared to the suffering you have already experienced.

You have resilience to come through all this and that want for life to be different.
You know that bottle of malibu will take you right back to the place you don't want to go and so stay in the day and just keeping put the action in of staying sober.
For me, my reward is the life I have today which is only possible in sobriety. I will have four years this week and in the afternoon I will be at the funeral of one of my best friends. Now I can even do the 'pour me' and be selfish or I can adopt the attitude of 'what a lovely way to share my sobriety birthday' and I have chosen the later.
We never know what our journey is yet at least sober, I am in with a chance of a happy contented peaceful one :)
Peace to you.
Be careful as we, as adults, take over the job of abusing ourselves that are parents started and we can keep doing it till it kills us. This is from someone that abused alcohol and drugs for over forty years!!!!
Go to a meeting, it does not leave you hungover or addicted. I now have 11 years clean and sober and actually enjoy life. Eric
Can you tell us what you did to stay off the drinks/drugs?
I can tell you what worked for me and that was going to the Rational Recovery web site and doing the free online crash course. It doesn't take long at all and it will teach you how to stay abstinent for ever. No need for meetings if you know what to do when you hear that little voice trying to get you to take that first drink/drug. Then get the book (Rational Recovery: The New Cure for Substance Addiction". You can buy it cheap second hand if you need to.
