Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I told myself, "You know what -- I'm going to make this easy on you. You want a drink? Right there it is. You're over 21. It's legal. You want it -- go drink it. I'm not fighting with you the about this the rest of my life."
So that's how I handled it. Those bottles are still here for when we have guests. I have no interest in them. They've never remotely been a temptation. I don't know -- maybe it was using reverse psychology on myself, but just knowing it was here, and having given myself permission to drink it anytime if that was what I REALLY, REALLY wanted to do, took the allure out of it for me.
Now...I couldn't do it...not yet. I know ME! lol.
I was just reminded of a memory or two...I was about 15 or so when I was getting into my mom's liquir and mixing it with Kool-Aid and TEA! It was disgusting! but I drank it for what I wanted it for! Sure wasn't for the taste! (after a few drinks tho, it did get better...lol)
Krm I wonder if Daniel went back into the lions den to see how the lions where.

or rubbing-alcohol around because I was acutely aware that they had "alcohol" in the list of Ingredients.
I can now because I no longer look for alcohol in bottles nor in lists of ingredients. I would not recommend that you keep anything with
"alcohol" until you have a solid first step (powerlessness) under your belt.
