Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Anyway, you're right, quitting drinking didn't make my life better. Being able to be an attentive, competent father to my son made my life better. Showing up to work every day, on time and ready to work, made my life better. Alcohol, for me, was an insurmountable obstacle to have these, and other, things that made my life better.
I was utterly incapable of changing my state of mind, as long as I was drinking. Stopping drinking did not automatically make my life better -- it merely made it possible.
Changing my state of mind required me to change what I was doing, starting with -- but not ending with -- dumping the beer. As it turned out, it's doing these things that make my life better and improve my state of mind, that also are my best defense against having my first drink.
The ordinary life definitely isn't for me. Alcohol is and always will be a part of me. That makes me different. I get to function like a normal, ordinary person in a lot of ways, though. For instance: ordinary people show up to work every day because they're reliable; I'm reliable because I show up to work every day.
Maybe I should try some wrinkle cream, at least.
I need to say sorry to all of you.
I am one of the people that I mentioned that have been consumed by alcohol and some of the reasons for it. I'm just angry.
hell
That's me and I'm not drinking. :)
Those are just excuses and drinking does not make them go away or any better..........
Just WORSE!!!!!!
Good luck to you.
You CAN do this cause I did.
