Some of you may remember my mortal fear of this when I was first sobering up, away around day 14 methinks - well I got through that easy enough and was so proud.
Heres the kicker - I packed today to go away for 2 nights (the usual spa hotel, there alone, expense account temptation)
And my panic forgot to kick in - I am merrily typing from my decadent suite without a thought to it or a temption.
Even better - I fought with my boyfreind today big time and I started to cry and then couldnt stop all day - I could go again right now in fact - I remember thinking !I cant believe how much this hurts" but I didnt think of alcohol.
My eyes hurt because of how much Ive cried but part of me is happy just to feel the raw pain - Ive blocked all feeling out for so long when I was drinking I guess I just wasnt ready for all the emotions today was swinging at me.
But 42 clean nights behind me needs bigger forces than that all to break me :)

and thanks for saying it doesnt take AA to be a spiritual person....love yourself too and stay in the moment...be greatful for what you do have!
And someone on here told me that crying cleanses the soul, so cry away if thats how you feel....and I know what you mean about finally feeling agian...drinking took that away from me too....atleast in the sense of really feeling it...
