Well, I was having a nice relaxing Sunday, curled up in bed with my cat, when the smoke alarm in my high rise (i live on the 13th floor) went off today....It does it atleast once a month and usually it is nothing, so I layed there for awhile waiting for it to be turned off....getting annoyed...then I heard my niegbors door slam a couple times so I figured go ask her if she heard anything....well when I went into the hall there was some smoke....she was in a bit of panic too...she had her cat and was trying to help me get mine but they were under the bed,....we practically threw the bed over trying to get them out for under it and when we did they ran again....I was starting to panic and said to forget it, we needed to get out...we had no idea if the fire was a lot bigger on the lower floors....so I left me door open and we took off down the stairs....there was this older lady with her walker trying to get down too...oh, the panic.....anyways, we finally get down to the bottom and hear it was a fire in the garbage shoot....and everything its okay....I could finally breath again...
It was sooo scary though, the thought going through my mind....shesh...I am so glad that everyone is okay....
the only think I feel bad about is leaving my cats :( One of them is still so scared he wont come out from under the bed, not even for his favorite toy...He will be ok though
SO, today I am grateful I am okay as well as all my neighbors too.
