Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
If you need to bitch, bitch. If you need to talk about your past with your dad, please do so. Warts and all, I think it is fine.
Just don't insult my hair-do, that is all I ask......
FUCK the holidays. Fuck them!! Fuuuck them. When my brother was killed, that same year, my dad burned our Christmas tree after we decorated it. After that year he would never let us have a Christmas tree again.
I didn't know your brother was killed.
Care to share details? Age, what kind of person he was, how?
If not, I understand.
Holidays certainly can be a bitch, uh?
Brother was hit by a car when riding his bike. He was 12. I was 15. A teenager was going around 80 mph. in a Trans Am. The teen who hit him ran away after the accident. Kids in our neighborhood ran to our house in a panic, screaming & told us. We ran to the site and my bothers head was split open & body crushed. Life Flight came & he died at the scene. He was my only sibling. I remember at the funeral, they were lowering his coffin in the ground and I kept telling people "he won't be able to breathe down there"! My mind was bent and I was still in shock & denial. Our family had so much abuse already w/ my dad. It just got worse after that. I talk to my brother all of time. It's good and I'm at peace knowing he is safe, happy and with God. I think God took him because my dad was so abusive and mean to him. I have always felt good about that.
Thanks for listening..
Saying I'm soooo very sorry just doesn't even come close to covering it.
I hope you have a grand x-mas tree every year.
Maybe I will too, this year. Just maybe I will.
What's your brother's name?
It's a name used many generations on the Italian side of my family. (Dad's side)
My oldest brother's name is Giordiano Atle Marchello....
We're wops too.
As crazy as our family is we are one good looking family on both sides.
Heck even when I was a child I remember thinking a couple of my uncles were sexy.
You should see my brother's daughters! OMG! They are Playboy material it must be so scary for my brother. Very religious family and good kids but holy moly are his girls gorgeous. My sister-Gina-has a girl that looks like Drew Barrymore. My mother's brother is a frickin hunk. Or he used to be. I haven't seen him in gosh I don't know how many years.
My grandparents - both sides - wow!
I swear when one grandma died women came to her funeral just to try to catch my Grandpa. I kid you not. I couldn't believe my eyes. People laugh when I say that my father - at one time - looked like Elvis. It's true, though. He was quite the looker.
But big deal, uh? We're all fucked up.
My family is the same exact way. Real lookers.. Like I said, Dad's side Italian and Mom's side Irish. My dad is the eldest of 10 and my Mom is in the middle of 8!
Obviously Catholics on both sides. Funny thing is my grandfathers on each side highly disliked each other. Very competitive men. Vincent Sudela & Patrick O'Tandy. Both families lived in the same neighborhood and went to the same church. When my parents married you would have thought it was the story of Romeo & Juliet.
Girl, I could tell you some stories that would make your hair fall out! OMG! Geeze..
All successful people. All drunks & drug addicts. Except for My Aunt Angelina & my Dad.
Shit girl, I have it on both sides BAD...
Alcoholism runs rampant on both sides of my family.
Somehow it escaped my parents. Every single one of my brothers and sisters are or used to be addicts. My oldest brother - Giordi - is totally recovered. Good ol boy!!! I am so proud of him.
It would be easier to count who isn't an alcoholic than to count who is.
