I will try and keep this conscious, but please forgive me if it goes on a bit.

I have a young (like 22) female neighbor, who most certainly has a drinking problem. Whenever she drinks, she does so to oblivion. Tonight, her and her man were fighting. Her step mom just died, she's not handling it well, he's angry for some reason and last night, she went out and partied, without him, after they fought, then lied to him about it. For HOURS he was belittling her, bullying her, throwing veiled threats out, calling her names , sitting right beside the neighbors and her, so he can hear what she whispering about, and ordering her into the house, much like one would talk to a dog. It escalated through the night, to the point where he was yanking their kid around and flat out threatening her.

I called the cops...this is all happening right outside my window!! They show up,and wont talk to her because she is SMASHED and accidentally spit on the cop! The officer talks to a few neighbors and him, then tells him to take the Daughter home and tells her he hopes he doesn't have to come back out for her drunk in public!! WHAT THE HELL???

Turns out, he had called the cops on her, right after I called. He had also smashed her lap top and let the air out of her tires.

Her answer to all of this was to cry about her computer, and go across the street for a bottle of wine, when the beer ran out!!

Lord only knows what will happen when she goes home. As I write this, I can hear her drunken calls "where's my brother...I can't walk". And she's talking about going home and her drunken family/friends are discouraging her.

I know I can't force AA on her...and I know I can't say anything right now, but I feel like I should do SOMETHING!!!

Any advice would be appreciated. And before anyone asks...no, I am SOO Not tempted to drink. I can remember a few times where I was the drunk, loud, obnoxious, "bring it on" girl...and I am sooooooooooo thankful that I don't have to be that person anymore.
