Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Though we can't force you to sign-on here - you'll have to take care of that part.....lol.
I warn you though - I work 12 hour shifts and usually can't answer phone calls when I'm on the floor. But I always have my phone on me and am available to text. (Just didn't want you to think if you called I was ignoring you:)
I already text with several people on this site and find it quite helpful to be able to anytime send someone a "help I need a pep talk QUICK" text...lol:)
But this has to be on you. Much like, nobody can force me to attend AA meetings, I'm grateful I want to go! When I miss, I feel agitated.
I can't remember your situation as to why you can't attend meetings, or haven't, but as tremendous as DS is, there's something more about seeing shiny faces, hearing their laughter, feelings their hugs of empathy and support.
An AA meeting is literally a survivors group, who very well know the struggle day in and out. It sounds like you need a sponsor, and a virtual one is not the road Id take. Sit face to face with them, and see if you can identify with them.
I strongly encourage you to attend a meeting or several. Look around the room and find a woman where you say, "I want what she has."
Can you not just leave it at "good for you for reaching out"???? Just ONCE???
I get the zeal of the people who attend AA on here but not every post requires a lecture. Just my 2 cents as I know there are quite a few people who do not even want to post in this group any more due to the overall "air" of this board.
It's like talking into thin air.
Amazing.
Are certain people on here just on auto-repeat?
Just curious.
We can do this!!
If suggesting an AA meeting is offensive to you, by all means, skip those replies. Maybe you could share what has worked for you?
Good for you for getting sober through AA. It's YOUR path, not every one else's.
Thanks for asking:)
FF, seriously, if you're almost 30 days, hell, if you are at 1 week, there are people who come here on the daily who can't put 2 days together so they need to know how you and others are doing it.:) They are more prone to "listening" to you than someone like me (old as dirt, lol).
