Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
When we get beyond our sickness, and our disease, beyond our self pity and being a victim, beyond the poor pitiful me, and start healing, and loving the self in a healthy way, growing to feel worthy, and important...worth loving and saving...that we save and love ourselves enough to stop abusing our selves, stop punishing ourselves...that we get to a place, that we can then in a healthy way reach out to others with all the love we have to give! It comes full circle....
Somehow we were helped to save our sanity, and now we share this message with others....we become strong enough to lend a helping hand!
I can't keep it if I don't give it away. What I give away I get back double.
he was a recovering alcoholic but i know that from his 2 years of attending a.a. he became so much stronger, he used to take phonecalls from people on the a.a. helpline, he used to do little jobs for all the people in his group, and help them through everything he could.
i feel that this made him stronger as a person, and he felt he had a place in the world and a role to do by helping others through the disease that ruled his life once.
not an alcoholic personally
but know i can very much relate.
