Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

This bit of waffle is from PO's post about asking for help.
When I get asked if I want help my normal ego says no, I can do it, I am a big boy now I do not need anyone's help.
Funny thing is when I ask you if I can help you and you say yes please I get a warm fuzzie feeling inside it makes me feel good to think I am helping someone else. I do not think I am better, I do not think they are less of them, I have no negative thoughts about the person just a warm fuzzie feeling that I helped them.
So why then when someone ask me if I want some help do I say no and deny them the opportunity to feel better about themselves. Why am I so selfish to deny some one this opportunity whether I need the help or not.
More G8 waffle.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

IMO.
I am talking about day to day life. Could be as simple as can help with the dishes, could I help with you lifting that suitcase etc etc.
The thought on selfishness is based on me not allowing others helping even after they have asked. It is my ego that has to be in 'control'.
I agree if I am to push myself onto others is about me rewarding myself not about helping others.
